Mental case? |

I speak in rhyme on a regular basis -- does that make me one of those mental cases? I post my rhymes for all to see on an Internet site -- what does that make me? Does it mean I'm nuts, or just want to be known for my gift of verse, for my little poems? A psychologist friend said to commit him if he starts to sound like Seuss. Do you think, instead, I should submit him to the website for our reviews? "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." |

Traci, we are all probably close to being committed. Yes, committed to the art of poetry. It tends to take over our lives. As I sit at work, doing just this. Very cute piece. I liked it bunches and I certainly can relate. Cheryl |

I'm voting with Alan on this. The committment to sharing thoughts in rhyme is sublime, not crazy. It's those who don't understand who might need to be, well, committed. And the proscribed medicine? Poetic justice requires that they read at least one hour a day at Pips, and post their own poetry at least once a week for peer review. Guess who gets to lead the review panel? YOU. |

Well, if you’re a mental case for this…then you’re in good company. Cause there’s an awful lot of us like this around here!!! If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Dear Traci, Yes, my dear. I'm sorry, but you must be committed. And I had such high hopes for you. Next you'll catch Roger's rhyming disease and there goes the neighborhood. Nan |

Wow! When I posted this Friday, I wasn't expecting such a response! I'll have to tell Tony he's famous now (or is it infamous?). I showed him the poem before I posted it, and he liked it so much he kept my only hard copy of it (I printed another copy off the site after posting it). Maybe there's hope for the man yet! Thanks, everybody! Nan, glad to see another MTCer here! I don't know if I want to lead a peer review panel of Tony's work, if he ever writes any. This whole thing started because he inadvertently rhymed while talking with my co-worker and I pointed it out to him. He does brain research of some sort, so I'm afraid that any poetry he writes will either be over my head (pardon the pun!) or so odd we'll think he really does need to be committed! Anyway, thanks again for all the supportive responses! It's always a relief when other people "get" your sense of humor, especially when many others in your offline life don't, you know? SavedByGrace, a mental case? No, we dare not think it, just cuz she rhymes, most all the time and now to Passions "inks" it. Cute poem, you'll fit in well others here. Welcome. Doc |

Marge, Doc, thanks for the warm welcome! I've always felt that I am a "peculiar person," but it's good to have others in the same boat with me. Traci "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." |
