my dreams lay still
at the foot of you

each moment
finds you further
than the last

you step into my heart
and pitch confetti 'round
then say goodnite
before it falls

my dreams interrupted
by silence
i heard only the door
closing
and i opened my eyes
to find the reality
you left behind

bits of paper on the floor

picking them up
i scribble upon each one
one word at a time

then i lay them out together
at your feet

these, my dreams

confetti wishes

one day, maybe one day
they will fall into our hands

Yes, this had a sorrowful feel
to it. Loved the metaphor
"confetti wishes" and I immediately
thought of something precious,
meant to be celebrated but sadly
wasted.

Wow, I love the way you’ve written this. A dream should not have to be reduced to a confetti wish...sadly though, they too often are.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

ok, yeah..i guess it does have a sad feel about it...come to think of it, when i wrote it i was feeling a bit blue...

but when reading it again, i was dwelling more on the end lines

Hi sweets, reading this I see it can go both ways. If you read the poem in a positive note in every sense. It is very hopeful about the sprinkling of love and wishes into ones heart. I guess this is tempered by the reality message.... don't ya just hate reality.

I will go with the positive message, its what I need.
