Words Upon a Drying Wind I took a ride for these past two years, along a trail of would-be happiness. Of course the hills were hard to climb and coming down sometimes, a bit too steep. But the thrill of it all, well... I wouldn't trade it for anything. Yesterday, the words that could not sound came in the flow of tears, drying upon the wind. Realization herding me, containing the wild, gathering my thoughts as I biked alone. Stopping many times to collect myself, drawing together the results of my actions, listing into positives and negatives, to come to some kind of conclusion. I waver from left to right and in-between, as I wrote yesterday. The sliver of moon, my moon, (at least in my eyes and heart it was mine for that hour), switched sides as much as my mind did, as I began the return towards home. A bit chilled, yet still warm in the heart, I thought of you and what would never be. I tried to hold onto something, a passionate moment to sway me a different direction, but with no face, no eyes of blue to look into, my tomorrow became clearer. Dreams are meant to stay dreams. Fantasies, the same. Everything comes easy in the dark of the night, behind closed eyes. In reality, the facts speak for themselves. And whether I like it or not, time moves ahead and some things are better off left in yesterday. ~Wynter *the title left by ctowen in my last poem... and the thoughts are left for you, to never be The Forgotten One. "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul." (J.Garland) [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (edited 11-23-2001).] |

Beautiful!! You found the moment you needed and found it well. Heartsearching as much as thrillseeking!! Definitely "words upon a drying wind". Thank you for the recommendation on the title, but they were your words all ready to come out. I will see what I must do to never be THE FORGOTTEN ONE. *S* |

"And whether I like it or not, time moves ahead." Yes they do...and the past is not necessarily better or worse then our future...we have some say over that...James |

Olias... Move on??? why would I want to do that...*s..sometimes memories fill the needs just fine. Irish Rose ..well I like my yesterdays, so far better than my todays or tomorrows to come *s thank you Kathleen. ctowen ..I am finding plenty of solitude lately not sure if that's what I need, but having no choice, I go with my mind's flow for now. Thank you for my title. JamesM...you may have some say over it..feelings on the other hand, don't subside that easily. Midnitesun..glad you thought it worthy enough, I have "inspiration of memory"...that constantly shadows me ..leaving me at least some warmth each night. Vandana..thank you *s ~Wynter "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. |
