Lost Lady in the Woods, Part 1 He has candle to light, It’s a mini-beacon in the dark, He’ll use it mostly at night, Illumination with just a spark, And it allows him to see But being seen by others too; When he allows light to be Visions in darkness will be few. It was nightly seen brightly, As see looked out her back window, It was seeming as dreaming, A floating flame in shadow. Slightly worried she hurried, Toward the wood in the field, Where it had been where she seen, Looks it’s source to be revealed. When at the brook stopped to look, The light has vanished away, With a sad turn she returned She’d investigate in day. When morning came there was rain, And chores to keep her busy, Inside she’d stay all the day, No time to go look and see. Watching tree line, oak and pine, Birch and popular, the woods deep, Shadows with night but no light, The rain on roof drumming sleep. With dawn’s coming out going And to garden works with hand, Always needing a weeding, Growing and living the land. Night came at last shadows cast Across and over the land, Then she did see by a tree A light carried by a man. Who could he be rush to see, Light was moving into wood, Into shadow she’d follow, Not thinking of if she should. The candle flickering as he'd go Down this forest pathway narrow Till reaching a small dark meadow, Hidden within the trees shadow, Returning darkness with a blow. Directions lack all turn black, Now there’s gone the leading light, Knows not the lands where she stands, Lost in the wood during night. Ripping her clothes as she goes, Torn by brambles that wont part, All she can do is push through, Falling down with pounding heart. Daylight breaking she’s waking Lost in sleep beside a brook, Her dress now in white satin, Flowers in bloom where she looks. Then she wanders and wonders At all the beauty she sees, Where she’s going not knowing She’s slipped from reality. Following a beacon of candlelight She wandered off into darkest night, Nowhere was she found she was lost from sight, Now a mystic and fantasy delight. Darn if I don't love the series of poems that have begun to grace the pages of Passions... |

Thank you, Enchantress, You are very kind, Actually this is a rewrite of a series I never finished, Adding a beginning and modify the existing parts, And then maybe finally finishing it. If you want to see the old version It’s the “Crone in the Woods” series at my site www.geocities.com/profgloom I’ll hope to begin changing it after Thanksgiving Gloom |

This just captivated me, my friend. You seem to get us lost in it...hoping and not hoping at the same time that she finds her way out. Personally..I would go for being lost in another reality. I love this. *Jenn* Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence. |

I still have that tree by the window and as I gaze often out of the bedroom window, I recall these words of long ago: Beyond the Windows of My Night Outside my window the night sky filling up with stars, the moon disappearing on this eve, drifting, I hear the loneliness echoing in the expanse of the night. I feel no comfort from the covering of the dark. To be together even when apart is my desire. To hear the music of your voice is my want. To feel your every movement is my passion. To see your eyes resting upon mine is my delight. To feel your gaze through your touch is my fire. You have entered my heart through these eyes, haunting me, catching me offguard, many nights, in pillowed hold, unaware of the hidden longings within. You have woven my thoughts with yours, over and under, entwining, embracing every fiber of me, above and beyond, never to sleep without the want of you. As the stillness of the night settles in I am caught up in the pleasure of these thoughts. Of moments... lying there, in the warmth of your arms, my eyes watching as you sleep, closing mine to dream...there... beyond the windows of my night. ~Wynter ...many words and poems inspired by your writings to be placed in the pages that fill My Heart, a journal of moments of the last two years. M "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul." (J.Garland) [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (edited 11-23-2001).] |
