I Have To Rodeo |

I loaded my old pickup- Couldn’t wait to get away. My mama was a crying… But I couldn’t bear to stay. I kissed her on the front porch- And said, Mom, I’ve got to go- I know it is Thanksgiving… But I have to rodeo! I guess ‘twas ten years later- With a baby on the way… My wife was shedding bitter tears- I somehow couldn’t stay. I said, I’ll call you every night… But, babe, I’ve got to go. To try to hold me isn’t right- I have to rodeo! But the rodeo has taken- Everything I once held dear. And soon, it too, will leave me- I can feel the parting near- The youngsters all just shake their heads- No way for them to know… I’ll only quit when I am dead- I have to rodeo! |

Yes, you sure do. Absolutely wonderful. This poem is so very real for so many people. I wonder if it is because I am in Alberta that I can connect with it. Well done. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

When we really love doing something, it's hard to stay away isn't it? If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |
