*with apologies to Longfellow*

I heard the bells on New Year’s Day
and wondered what they had to say
from voices rare
there came a prayer
for peace on Earth and war no more

I wondered on this day now come,
was I indeed the only one
who felt this way?
did others pray
for peace on Earth and war no more?

and in the still, my eyes did tear,
we know not peace, but only fear
so strong is hate,
it’s not our fate
for peace on Earth and war no more

then met was I by mighty throng,
and joined together in one song
were Christian, Jew,
and Arab too
for peace on Earth and war no more

then round the Earth the song did rise
till echoing back from heaven’s skies
a voice, a dove,
symbol of love
and peace on earth, and war, no more

Happy New Year to all. . . and may Peace be our gift to the next generation. . .

Nope, you do not stand alone.

Why, just look around you!  I bet I could safely say that all at Passions plan to make their lives more peaceful in the coming New Year, and just think...it might ripple around the world...

and in that, the world is thus changed...

Happy New Year, Sven!

Sven, this is wonderful. I don't think you need to apologize to Longfellow as I am sure he would agree with your sentiments in this.

P.S. I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day is one of my favorite carols.

God bless America, my home sweet home.
