There is a place inside of me that is too deep for any to see The aches and hurts I never will show the pains of life that I did know I guard them well, and lock them tight behind closed doors, shut with all my might For if not careful, one will jar and thoughts ease out and go too far Then the distance will stretch on with luring call of a Siren’s song That is when the eyes do stare beyond the horizon of ocean bare Unseeing, but seeing, of what only I know until I put aside what takes me low With a shrug of shoulder and hint of smile I put it behind to make the next mile For what will be seen, is not all of me what seems simple is really complexity But for the now, simple will do as I leave the deep, having seen it through |

"I guard them well, and lock them tight behind closed doors, shut with all my might For if not careful, one will jar and thoughts ease out and go too far" This is deep. For many years I kept my own demons locked up tight.. through my poetry I am learning to dance with them instead. I don't believe they like to dance though, because when I opened the door for them they simply walked away... |

Logan--complex and deep you are..... it is that which brings such intrigue to your simple poem. |

Oh, I identify with this one very well. The older I get the more I realize that people polish their persona to the point where they only show what they want you to see. Very perceptive. |

For in the deep, where blackest meets thoughts of loss with no surcease yea, I would go in to greet that sense of loss, for love's relief... once again, you inspire me onward... |

Probably the best thing you've written yet, Logan. It's deep, alright. And honest. Me likes. Cor |

I think we all have old wounds that we try to hide deep inside us. Deep thoughts, well written. You gave me pause for reflection here. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Unseeing, but seeing, of what only I know until I put aside what takes me low With a shrug of shoulder and hint of smile I put it behind to make the next mile ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sometimes this is the only way to do it Logan...and not showing all of 'our selves' to others I believe is good as it leaves a sense of mystery and intrigue. Wonderful, thought provoking write I have come to expect from you dear one. *A New Year hug and a soft smile to you* *~ Wishing everyone a New Year filled with Peace & Love ~* |

Ah but isn't this a timely one? A "kinda out with the old, and in with the new" poem! Logan, you have outdone yourself with this one, and off to the library with you now! ~*~ Happy New Year ~*~ |

(sigh) So well said, sweet friend, I feel in order to evaluate and understand ourselves we must submerge into the deep with every effort and then come out with assurance! (sigh) Soooooo wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Logan, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

This reminds me of much of my thoughts during many times of my life. It is so well said. Believe it or not, you can get to the point where the feelings are not ever present. Writing this poem is part of moving away from the pain..in very small steps. Christine I can't control |
