Been away from the fourms for a while..moved out of state..healthy 90 year old grandma got sick and died..this is my return to writing. This is for Margaret Tortora. Grandma was one of the first woman to hold an executive position in a major company. Also, she taught our family about love and forgiveness.

For Grandma...DEC 1st 2001

There is freedom in the wind
She knew this all along
With wisdom wrapped around her words
She sang her loving selfless song.

At the distant thunder's sound
When clouds of change began to form
She cried a bit, picked up her head,
Prepared to face this final storm.

For herself, she felt no fear.
There was promise in a wind so strange.
She was, after all, a pioneer.
Alone, with courage, she forged towards change.

Her strength is measured by the unbreakable bond
Of a family she nurtured through and through.
To Grandma, a Mother, a friend, our angel
We say once again may "God bless you."

With all my love, Christine

I can't control
my destiny
I trust my soul,
my only goal
is just to "be"

Christine - This is a wonderful tribute to somebody who must have been a blessing to have near.  I'm sorry for your loss, but what you gained I'm sure is so much more over the course of her life in yours.

So sorry for your loss.  This is a beautiful tribute.

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.
