The Lingered Wish
~~~
Ten thousand pounds
of solid rock
crash down
against the floor
The beaming light
of yesterday
is blocked
for evermore
The loss of several happy years
collapse
a fragile mind
A heart
destroyed
before the dawn
leaves bitter tears behind
~
Ten thousand dreams
of days to come
just
dust clouds
in the rain
All scattered
o'er a sea of tears
where hopes are cast in vain
The treasured sights
together sought
forsaken
waste away
Regardless
of the lingered wish
that quickly fades to gray
~
Ten thousand blissful days
engram
are lost
for evermore
The spark of love
gives way to lack
and seals the heavy door
Emotions froze
to deathly state
evade
approaching day
But hearts
encased
in solid stone
never bleed again
they say
~~~

How very true. But a bleeding heart is far more alive than one encased in stone isn't it. Great poem Rex. Really enjoyed this.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Oh, they may say it is so, but until you experience it in real, and come back to tell...we shall only wait in wonder...
