The scent of passion intoxicates the air
climbing a stalk of foolish wishes
sweet and juicy like a Bartlett pear
painted upon porcelain antique dishes
peel the pulp of night like a tangerine
peeling sweet seeds of rapture
until love bursts into a smithereens
a prisoner in a moment of capture
dripping from branches of a custard apple
sweet fruits of moonlight tangerine
reflecting frescoes in the Sistine chapel
within Michelangelo's halls serene
da Vinci's Mona Lisa still haunts history
her angelic smile, like love, still a mystery

a prisoner in a moment of capture...

what a great line Victoria!!

I read with appreciation the growth
and peace in your words.  Or perhaps
it was my need to feed upon.

Happy New Year to you.
