He Came He came in the morning, ever so sweetly Wrapped me completely in breezes of spring Tender and warming, his voice so discretely Whispering pleasures the evening would bring He came in the sun, as roses were blooming Yearning was grooming the mind of a girl Never had daydreams been so consuming Passion was looming, about to unfurl He came in the evening, well before twilight Donned in the skylight‘s sunset of red Never believing was I of soft moonlight Never conceiving the words that were said He came in the hour of love’s expectation Fires of elation were burning within He came like a flower, a vibrant carnation The infinite power of love would begin He came in the calm, releasing the pain of Heart that was waiting to touch the unknown He came in the balm of sweet April rainfall Innocent flower he’d tenderly grown He left at the dawn’s most beautiful hour When dewdrop and flower are warmed by the sun When sweet doe and fawn rest under a bower When destiny’s drawn and when life has begun He left me alone, a flower of passion Bathed in sweet dewdrops and warmed by the sun Elizabeth Santos |

For some reason, Liz, this poem reminds me of an old Irish love poem...it has that kind of flavor to me...and I mean that as a huge compliment. It is very beautiful and melodious  |
