Here is a tale of a famous pie: an abbot sent Jack Horner, young and spry to bring title deeds to manors expanded on the way to the king, the deeds he extracted. The deeds were baked within the Xmas pie: the abbot sought the king's favor on the fly, his property was about to be dissolved so it was his majesty's resolve. But l'il Jack Horner withdrew a plum of a deed he had no worry of extracting a seed the abbot was tried and convicted of swindling Jack Horner's descendants kept the manors from dwindling. always nice to read a new twist on an old classic... There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

It looks like you are on a teaching kick, Martin. This was fun to read as well as interesting. There was an article in my local paper last week, about how the Mother Goose nursary rhymes originated with the royalty of England fighting amongst themselves. copyright2001 Lyra Nesius |

Mdame Chip and Larry, There say that each rhyme has their own origins, one had to do with a cardinal to HenryVIII who mediated between between the French and Hapsburgs. [This message has been edited by ecrivan (12-25-2001 12:39 PM).] |
