Baby Bathes

Rinsing, washing
Baby bathes
Babbling fond incoherencies

Startled, stops
Eyes soap stung
Poised at the
Brink of crying

Then pain
To pleasure yields

Splash kaplash
Stacato arms ecstatic
Conducting the symphony
Of bubbles forming

Now, snatched to
Loving mother's arms
To toweling--mid symphony

The symphonic orchestra that the cute 'lil baby is conducting must be the playing the most harmonious melody ever. Not to mention, the wettest...

Joe,
I felt the splash and heard the gurgle...what more could I ask of in a poem.

A very sweet, well written poem, Joe...
and the picture goes so well with it.

Thank you all for your kind comments.
I did the sketch of my grandson,Nicky at an age a few years older than the baby I had in mind in the poem, but I thought it still added to the overall idea.  It's a joyful sight to see a baby enjoying its first baths.

Cheers to all,
