I made the bed I lie in- There's no one else to blame. I chose the path I walked upon, To play the footloose game. My parents tried to raise me right, Some said I was bad seed. A creature of the dark and night, One of the lawless breed... I grew up fast and left my home- To live out on the road... The place I hung my old black hat, Was where I called my home. A life like that brings only pain And causes hearts to bleed- And dooms a man to live alone- One of the lawless breed. A gun becomes a part of you- And caution is your code... Tell no one about yourself, You meet upon the road... But finally you settle down- Beneath four feet of clay... The bedroom of the lawless breed, And where I lie today. No "Rest In Peace", nor "He'll Be Missed"- Are carved upon my stone- Just a name, two dates, one dash... I rest here all alone. |

What a lonesome life. But if by choice, then who can say but the lonesome cowboy whether or not he wrangled right. But we can see he sure knows how to write. Very well done, John. Holiday cheers, and Happy New Year. |
