The Music Box I saw it in the window, Of this lovely gift boutique. I've dreamt about this many times, So mesmerized, I couldn't speak. My daughter stood behind me, On my shoulder she placed her hand. Mom, why are you crying? How could she understand? My son asked me, one long day ago, What would I like for a gift? I told him it would be a music box, I watched his spirits lift. I never got that gift from him, As he left us much too soon. And it really didn't matter, In my heart there was such gloom. Yet; Is this serendipity? What drew me here today? For here was this sweet music box. And it took my breath away. We went into the gift shop, And played the melodies. I said to my dear daughter, I feel weak in the knees. The brass rolls turned around, As the little couples danced. Sweet magic sounds of music, And I was so entranced. The music box came home with me, I wrapped it up with a bow. And placed it underneath the tree, So everyone would know. This gift came from my son, I knew it right away. And I will think of him every time, I hear that music play. [This message has been edited by strbbux (12-21-2001 08:50 PM).] |

Thank you all for the warm replies, of course this is true, It happened today and I had to sit and write it all down. I am still in a wonderment about it all. Like a little miracle for me, My son passed away last year on Dec 5th and it has been difficult. And this music box I found today. I was not even looking for it, it was like it was meant to be. thanks again to all above. strbbux |
