The Lamppost

The moonlight cast upon the street
A shadow there forever sketched
And footprints carved of lovers’ feet,
Where in the dawn a sigh was etched

The phrase of love is softly scrolled
Upon the page of passing wind
Unspoken words, that didn’t unfold
Engraved forever deep within

She wandered back through lamplight’s gown
In shadows of remembered bliss
Embossed upon the lamppost found
Impressions of a lasting kiss

Ah Lizzie...I see a soft snowfall in this, the left-behind footprints of two under the lamplight...very soft, very beautiful, and haunting...

Lovely!

What excellent lines!  Yes, this one I am keeping.  Wonderful, Liz!
