As I watch you sleeping there I lay my hand on your forehead and stroke your hair. I remember the days It seems so long ago when you were so very small and I was there for your every call. Now you have grown You want to be big and do it all on your own. As I watch you sleeping there I think to myself how sometines life is so unfair. How you grow up so fast and all I want is the baby years to last. As I watch you sleeping there I sit and realize as I stare Now you are a teen and I know you think at times that I'm so unfair and mean The thing I try to get you to understand Is I too was once your age and felt the same as you and didn't want my parents helping hand. One day soon you will be grown with a family of your own Then you will see that things weren't all that bad Then you will understand why at times I seem to feel sad. Heather, I think this poem writes every single Mother's heart and you did it well. I really enjoyed this one, and stroked my son's forehead many a time at that age. Loved this one. ~*~ The Very Best Of The Season To You And Yours ~*~ |

Very touching...nothing like watching an innocent child sleep...i often wish i was back in time too watching mine sleep..it was the happiest time in my life..i miss those days...thank you for posting ... ~Victoria~ |

Oh yes, children grow up so fast!! I don't have any children but when I do, I will definitely watch them sleep and lend a helping hand always. |
