“HIGHWAYS AND BYWAYS” by Karen Torbiak & Bill Charles ~~~~ As I travel this road of life looking backwards in time, harsh lessons I've learned are rife, with mountains there to climb… A lifetime it seems, is my road, time is so distant in my past, trials and tribulations are mine perhaps, I’ve been bypassed… Time moves quickly on the highways, with little time to rest, sometimes drifting to the byways, while thinking that way best… The paths were but a blur, exhaustion became my name, shortcuts I tried to take, all I received was pain… To forget logic and reason, as I walked off the path, while not thinking of the season, that comes with aftermath… Knowledge I thought I knew, but crooked miles I walked, spring, summer, fall, winter, didn’t care, as I mocked… It is said wisdom come with age, as we learn lessons well, each year while turning a new page, I'll on the past not dwell… Many years have passed by, and I look back on time, all the years of dreams, perhaps will never, be mine… Bill, I want to thank you for sharing your amazing talent with me. I love the way this poem turned out and the depth into both of us that it gives. **hugs** ~~~~ Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

Karen & Bill, Some pathways are painful to recall but have contributed to our current direction. Nice job kids. |

Karen and Bill, this is utterly utterly superb. Each duet gets better if that were possible, you are both superb poets, when you sing together you are ecnhanting. Bill your and Karens writing is practically seemless. Truly this is outstandingly good and yes I know I've said it before but I don't care this is wonderful I love this one it has such a wonderful feel to it. Excellent work the pair of you Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

We come and we go but we can't go back. Life is a lesson we never stop learning. Nicely said and done. Kudos to both of you. |

Karen - I also would like to thank you for writing this with me. It took a lot of thought, and had me thinking. Also to thank everyone that replied with your kind words. Karen is one heck of a talent... BC |
