The Quiet Man

Like the top of a lonely mountain
The peak is rarely reached
So is the mind of the quiet man

Like the deepest depth of the blackest ocean
The bottom is mysterious and dark
So is the heart of the quiet man

Like the bite of the black scorpion
Both beautiful and deadly
So is the lover of the quiet man

Like the brightest star in the sky
That lights up the evening
So is the smile of the quiet man

Like the cleansing winds after the storm
Unveiling promise when despair suffocates hope
So is the soothing demeanor of the quiet man

Like the imminent end to all humanity
When the Lord’s wraith takes revenge on the blind
So is the time for the quiet man to be heard

Marcel

Beautiful write!  There are many things we don't know about other people, we often judge people on their outside, while it might not portray the person on the inside, these quiet men are mysterious until they are met.

*sigh* gentle and tender is the Quiet man. It was once said to me that the passion of a man may burn bright and hot but they will fade just as quickly and it is the quiet man who will offer lasting love that will continue into eternity. This poem touches me with the serenity that flows from it. I really enjoyed reading it. **hugs**

Excellent write, Keith. As someone once said, "If the meek shall inherit the earth, who will stand up to claim it?" At that time, the quiet man will definitely be heard..
