The sounds of thundering hoof's
dancing upon sacred ground
steel against lifes unforged steel
with blood and guts all around

The sights of such massacre
such blatant loss for life
grieves any living soul left
as nightmares fill tears of strife

This, a battle cry ... for loss
unwanted waste for any man
the deafening sounds of war
unsilent tears where blood ran

Why must we always endure
the fate which only Hell shares
such death and self-sacrifice
which this undying torch flares

You have some good thoughts in here. Nicely done to make people think.

*sigh* oh my gosh.....such power in your words. Much like a warning of the battle of life that happens now adays. Messages are here for my eyes to see and I hope to forever avoid any battle cry. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Such sadness and fear fill these words, dearest friend, I pray with all my heart that we may find a day where we can all live together in harmony and never again have to shout a cry of war! (sad sigh) So sad but well-written, dearest friend, we all love you so very much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This brings to mind all old fashioned battles...from early times to the last wars..I wish there was no need for poems about battle. Thank you for a thought provoking poem.

Yes, the wars which rage on and on seems to only accomplish minimal things, too much bood is spread just for kicks, it is very sad.  Powerful words overtook me, nicely done!  And welcome to passions!

~My third read, and what you've written stirs me, has my heart pounding, and possesses such intensity I sigh. Welcome here, and thank you for your kindness, left at my last post. *Peace.
