T'was blackest night as ink on page of white;
Reflections seen through but a single flame,
By candlelight then sat with quill to write
Thoughts far too intimate for worldly claim.

Yet nary dreams enscribed, for dawn befell
E'er visions' full enlightenment of day.
Still heartfelt reverie of mind to tell,
And you to hear so many miles away.

Warm rays of Sunshine easily withstand
Intrinsic trust, time's unencumbrant yield.
Life's quest a selfless gift with no demand;
True sharing comes with hopes and dreams revealed.

I know that you are there, yet here with me
And bound forever friends with love that's free

Waft every crest upon your destined sea
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity

A few words, all I gave you and you brought forth this wonderfully crafted piece. A Shakespearian Sonnet, my favorite, a true delight when done so well.

Ahhh... the cadence...the meter... the rhyme divine....the harmony when read aloud...
the poetic phrasing...the vocabulary and language...
Tis such a treat to read your sonnets ...
they go down like sweet cream butter
Beautiful write poetess Nan.

Forever satin, hint of antique lace
sweeps, shawl-like, 'round my embrace
like sweet a poem by poet renown
worn bright as diamond crown
when thoughts are there, here with me

Lady is going to be SO pleased!

From Lady Elizabeth to Lady in White:

A sonnet of love on a silk page of white
This is your face in the dawning of light
Ink will be srung into phrases of blue
To sing of the purity, goodness of you

From Lady Elizabeth to the Lady of Sonnets

A sonnet of friendship in blackness of ink
Inscribed onto parchment, the depths that you think
A well of the beautiful, gold mine of ore
Your wealth in the depths of the inkwell are more

WEll done
Well deserved

My sweet Nan, you know very well that I am still learning to perfect the sonnet, but you have always been so gracious in accepting whatever I offer up.  But you must become more strict with this student, my dear, so that I may one day make you very proud of me.  As for this?  Christmas Confection.  And a Keeper...
