Foul, dirty desecration ... halls filled with the vile stench of a foreign presence, invaded by one who doesn't belong. Even stones are soaked with strange scent, cracks permeated by a silent, seeping intruder. Ceremonial fires slowly grow dim in the unfamiliar ambiance. Thick, choking uncertainty sneaks through, snuffing out joyfully flickering flames, killing the passionate music which shadows had danced to upon the walls. The dying light reveals all, a sin I was never meant to see. Here, in consecrated space, a haven was created, but the veil has finally been lifted, raising up the curtain of deception. Laid bare, on the sacred altar of our bliss, an unclean act of infidelity. How dare you defy the sanctity of our love, angering the gods that brought us together? You made a mockery of desire's reverent rites, soiling my heart's chaste offering. My tears have too often watered the ground on which we once knelt with souls of pure intent. Nothing has grown out of fertile grief except weeds of pain and betrayal. Hallowed chambers now stink of corruption, all treasures and urns broken, shattered shards left to lie alone, jagged reminders littering the floor. Only a dangerous, cutting path remains, ensuring no further trespass, and condemning any future revival in the cold, desolate ruins of our abandoned temple. ~What is cherished most is what must be the hardest fought for.~ |

Michelle, But just when you give up all hope and see no signs of love. It will in fact grow and eventually flourish. But first to get past the pain...Sorry! |

Larry - Thanks for reading . And you're right ... love will eventually grow again, but getting past the pain is an obstacle that must be overcome first. Juanita - Well ... this is pretty applicable to a situation I am experiencing. It's probably a little bit stronger than what's really going on in my life, but things are looking up each day, and I only hope that all will be well soon. Merry Christmas to you, too! Seymour - Yup, I really needed to get that one out of me. I'm glad I did. Thanks for the compliment. ~What is cherished most is what must be the hardest fought for.~ |
