The Right to Die

My reasoning power’s become a bit hazy
Our medical system has gone a bit crazy
Insurance no longer insures those who need it
Yet they take our money and gluttonously eat it

Without an exception a hospital rates us
Non-chronic, non-critical, invisible patients
In emergency rooms you are quickly dismissed
After waiting four hours while panic persists

They’re soon going to revamp the out-patient myths
Placing heart transplants right at the top of the list
An attack of a critical nature I dread
For they will not admit you until you are dead

When the ambulance comes, I suggest that you take it
Just roll over stiffly and subtly fake it

Elizabeth Santos

Oh Liz...I'm sorry that this is making me laugh, because it is no lauging matter.  I see that while you were there they didn't remove your sense of humor.  Take care of yourself, dear friend...Hugs!

Elizabeth Santos,

Spoken very well.
Thank you for using
Your "right to tell".

A shameful situation in deed
To be invisible
When a person is in such need.

Hope you're doing much better now.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Elizabeth, my heart goes out to you and all those poor patients that don't get the treatment and company they need. It saddens me to see so many doctors showing their compassion to others but rather doing it all for the money and ignoring the cries of pain for the patients. (tears fall down my cheeks) Oh, sweet friend, I'm so happy you're back, we all love you so much and missed you! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You always! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Liz,

I am not laughing at this, but rather, applauding.  There's so much truth here.  In the past eighteen months I've been forced to see a great many doctors and am seeing one tomorrow, as a matter of fact.  I'm used to this treatment, but they never get used to me calling them on it.  Take care, my friend, and be well.

I found this funny at first, however it is the truth that you are speakin, sometimes it just doen't seem like they really care for the patient's sometimes, but their wallets.  I like I like.

Boy, and I thought the Canadian health care system was the pits.
I did smile at the last two lines though Elizabeth.
Hope you are well!

Sometimes you've just gotta laugh because crying solves nothing and just smears your mascara. *S* I'm with Martie... laughing, though I know it's no laughing matter... and so glad you possess the talent to turn even the lousiest situation into the finest poetry. *S*

LOL...I see we have one thing in common with our medical systems - good advise Liz, as that is the only way you seem to get in faster.  Cute as anything this was, but all too true.

I hope you are doing better, Elizabeth. Being in the hospital is no picnic, especially the way patients are treated, I agree. Your delightful sense of humor has won the day, though! (((HUGS))) Be well!
