         “SOMETIMES I WONDER”
                           by
                       Bill Charles
                          ~~~~
As my thoughts wander in my mind,
        sometimes I wonder,
                where they are…
It seems that they are here, or there,
        perhaps flying away,
                to somewhere afar…
When we sit by the serenity of the bay,
        I place my head,
                upon your breast…
My thoughts come back to me slowly,
        for I know my fragile being,
                is at rest…
I feel your fingers caressing my grief,
        soft with caring,
                the way of your touch…
My heart beats in rhythm to your breath,
        I know I love you,
                so very much…
I feel safe with you, your tender words,
        and as you hold me,
                we’re as one, together…
But even though I know the safety of you,
        my mind still drifts off,
                and sometimes I wonder…
As i can tell from your picture we are practically opposites (I'm woman in my early 20s), but I could still relate to your poem, which to me isone of the most important things to make poetry great, relatabilty.  You really captured how it feels to be so stressed etc. and you can't even grab hold of your thoughts unless that special person is there.  But to be honest I'm having trouble with the last line...why your mind is wandering again..
rebekah33 - thank you for the nice reply to my writing. The last line you ask about. H'mmm, perhaps it's wondering about what was, or might have been, or what will be. Perhaps.
Thanks for stopping by...
Bill Charles,
Oh haven't we all of a certain age wondered?
I hope your future is with the "wonder" of that loved one.
Bill..
I have felt these feelings from time to time.
Even though we have strong love...sometimes
we wonder if it really is...Will it last?
Nicely done...
Magnus - your words are so true, we do wonder if it will really last...
Enchantress - perhaps it's about the past, perhaps the present, or perhaps the future. Sometimes I wonder...
Very wonderful sentiments and feelings in this. There is always a drift of thought amongst us poets. Always trying to capture the rapture I suppose. Savoring it, elating in it and wondering what without it. Enjoyed!
Peace, Love and Joy!
Regina
A lovely format you've written these pondering in Bill. Much enjoyed the opening you left in the end to "wonder" at what might yet be, nicely written!
Best wishes,
Bill darling boy I really love this poem it is UTTERLY utterly fabulous.
Yes I know I always say that but then you always write to utter perfection. I wouldn’t have to say it was absolutely perfect if you didn’t always write so well would I? No exactly
Love and warm stuff
As always
