Never close enough

We talk...but nothing gets said, yet another moment lost, leaving the next one full of dread.

We drain each other of emotions until, each of us ony stare.

What is this "feeling" between us, other than despair?

We only stay together because we feel to guilty to leave,
Yet...tearing each other apart without promise of reprieve.

I never wanted to be this loyal to you...happiness was my goal,
But, beacause I promised to love you, I am void of heart and soul.

I turn away from you, you turn away from me,
we are dissapearing in each other...sweetheart can't you see?

Like a rose my petals are wilting, and my color is fading away,
I'm exhausted and worn so thin, from the emotional game we play.

Please leave, so we can live, a life without the pain,
We both deserve the sunshine, which will take the place of the rain.

Tell me you can do this...else what is our choice?

But to live in this misery, that doesn't even have a voice.

I wrote this one about two years ago, about my parents who tried for way to long to live together for my brother and I.
