The Right Words December 10, 2001 Copyright 2001 Doug Pretorius Long I've been holding my breath waiting for you to find me And all the while I've seen things I didn't expect I realized all the disrespect I've been free to throw It feels like my dying breath praying for you to see How great we could be but I forget, I suspect who I really reflect and it's not the good you've shown Should I perhaps digress? I'll reminice my regrets about everything I let slip that hurt And in the meantime, please stress how all we had's become so much less because you were the one I treated worst So if this is to be my final breath please accept my apology in all its insimplicity I've forgotten some thoughts I meant to inspect perhaps it's time for you to interject because the right words you've always known |
