hope in winter
It is cold.The grass is frozen .Tortured into stark shapes.The fallen leaves , once loose and wanton,lie still.Nothing moves.Even my breath hangs as if reluctant to leave my body.
No birds sing.
The sun is pale and weak.To weak to move the fog that hangs over the earth
Only hope is alive.
Spring will come again
I know it
Like love
It has its season and will come again
