Mind traveling south
heart following on
ethereal notes floating,
soaring on dove's wings,
across meadows and streams
over hill and dale,
to the one I love
whose soul lies
under majestic Rockies
capped in white
above emerald green vallies.
My heart lies
hidden between
soft arches and rocky cliffs
of golden sunset,
kissed by morning dew,
and the sounds of thunder crashing
over rivers of white foam.
Fill the empty spaces of me
with magical cascading notes
of Kitaro, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Bach
like pristine waterfalls
from the heavens above
lifting my spirit
beyond the realm of earthly existence,
filling the crevices of me
with purest joy,
and ecstasy.
Wrapping my heart and soul
as a snug glove fits the hand on a cold wintry day.
Somewhere, out there, is my Love.
A soul and heart whose song
is sung for my ears alone,
whose compassion and Love
will wipe away all tears
and swallow all the fears
that have followed me for years.
His heart is true.
Both golden and of rainbow hue
It is you I adore
For now,
forevermore.

Kacy,
What wonderful imagery. I know it all so well...right up to that long haired list of names and then you lost me. But the rest of it is awesome. You deserve the best and more...like: Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John and Eric Clapton! But, what do I know? LOL

The past is history and the future is a mystery, but today is a gift and that is why it is the present!

Balladeer, thank you so much! You are so sweet. I only had three lines of this written down, this rest just came as I listened to Kitaro's "Ancient" CD. If you don't know Kitaro's music, this is his 2001 CD, and it is awesome music.
And as for my heart?
The one I wrote this for knows where my heart is tonight, even though we are miles apart.

Larry. So nice to see you tonight. Go to your local music store and treat yourself to Kitaro. You will never regret it, and neither will Nancy.

Midnitesun,

Classical music your spirit does fill.
Making wonderful words flow from your quill.
That wonderful love for whom you are waiting,
Some day soon your heart will be sating.

Jo, thank you! I love this music, it makes my heart sing almost as much as the man in my dreams.

Larry, I can honestly say there isn't a bad Kitaro. But go for "Ancients" if you can get it. It will put you in another dimension. and if you do not like it, I will buy it from you. Also try music from Tangerine Dream...anything. Guaranteed, beautiful music.

Wow! Midnitesun1
You make me long for nothern skies,
make me think
of towering masses of rock and ice.
What must be the sound of ice breaking on a river in the spring, or chunks of an overextended glacier breaking off and crashing in to the sea?  I can no longer get much from music.  They must sound like thunder.
If it rumbles, roars, crashes or thunders, and if it is loud enough, you can bet that I will here.
These days, in a thunderstorm, thunder is felt long before it is loud enough to hear it.

Oh, Jaime, if I could make it rumble loud enough to be heard that far, it would probably scare half the planet. Perhaps a smaller emailed rumble? Actually, I've never heard the glaciers tumble into the sea, except on a PBS video. Perhaps next year I'll visit the majestic Alaska coast, and hear the roaring sea.

Kacy,
I looked tonight. But guess it didn't start with a "t", huh? You know I'm struggling on this one...
By the way, I only listen to jazz, except when Nancy is home.

Rattle and hum?

Midnitesun,
Thanks for reminding me how much I miss my Rockies.  There is something about the mountains that stirs up all the life you have inside and makes you shiver with its wonder.  Your poem did too.  Guess love can do the same thing to a person.

Great job, I loved it!
