Blues On Beale

When you leave
Your shoes are dusty.
Your heart beats fast
And your soul's still thirsty.

That's how you know
You've had a great night.
Blues, fast and slow;
Played and sung just right.

Beale Street, alive and well.
Hear the rhythms of life
Rise and swell.
You'll learn of joy and strife.

Your body and soul swing and dance;
In your seat or on the floor.
You may even find romance;
Blues will make you take the chance.

You love this music, bold and lusty.
But now you must go out that door
With your feet all dusty, your soul still thirsty.
Fret not; you know you'll be back for more.

Jo
This was great.  As a lover of many types of music I could relate to this so very well.  Where would we be without music in our lives?
Take care.....Sue

JoMason - I love the blues. Nothing like a blues to dance to with one that cares. So romantic, and the blues touch me deep inside.

Jo,
Dancing to a Memphis moonlight with your blue suede pumps. Elvis is bubbling up within me.
My lip is twitching, my hip is pitching,
I've succumbed my darling to your bewitching.

Very well done Jo.

Sitting here now listening to the blues.
Saturday night still has my mojo moving.
Knowing you enjoyed my poem is great news.
Thanks for the reviews -- keep on grooving!

. . . and something special for you
True Reflections -- apparently you know of Memphis' Beale Street.  Come on down, B. B. King's going to be in town Feb. 4.
