~*~
Before the evening got its start
I mirrored face, as all would see.
Wishing to befriend myself
this was the Me that I would be.....

Sampling Life

Danced the night away with him,
the tunes of memories past.
Rock and rolled, each beat of heart,
felt pounding strong at last.
I let my hair down, as it fell
the tempo eased into
the closeness of  a softened sense,
and felt the breath of you.

I tasted drink, and lips of mine
expressed a smile in toast.
The new to rise, unmasked the eyes
now sparkling  without ghost
of haunts and fears of hurts and tears
that strained the last few days.
Danced the night away with him
in Cinderella ways.

Swirled and whirled, as others watched
wondering  who? and where?
In velvet touch each partner felt
the truth beyond their glare.
Dinner too, the talking light
till laughter was dessert.
Danced the night away, I did
and cleansed life's feel of hurt.

Cinderella at the Ball,
with gentle thoughts tonight.
Spirit flowed from in and out
beneath the reigning light.
Full circle too, said one to her
from childhood, "Thanks", was due.
The warmth from all had moment stilled
A Midnight shared with you.

Sue, thank you..was no Fairytale...It was a real evening out...I felt like Cinderella...dressed up...with no expectations but to enjoy myself.

"No expectations"  I was once told...it's better to have none, then you will "never be disappointed". I have learned that lesson, a harsh one, the hard way.

Maureen,

This is what I love to see.  A beautiful lady, full of spirit, class, you look wonderful,
I almost have tears in my eyes looking at this and reading this as I sit here, this is surviving isn't it?   I am so happy for you, so happy.  You know I detest having my picture taken!  I am saving this thread as a reminder of how Cinderella lives
Yes, she really does.....

Maureen, This is indeed a real life Cinderella story played out for all of us to see.  But, it is not a story, not a  play...it's real life and it's YOU!    I am so pleased to see you so happy and love the pic.  Look forward to seeing ones of you letting your hair down!
You glow sweetie!

sometimes life can be just like a fairy-tale....mostly at moments we don't expect anything. Beautiful moments of life, and you caught that midnight dance so wonderful in your words and shared it with us......

Wish you many more beautiful midnight moments...

(smiles) Oh Maureen, I'm so happy and proud of you, it brings tears of joy to my eyes to feel you, a very beautiful loving lady and friend, dancing as a lively spirit and playing the role of the Cinderella you are! (smiles) It may not be a fairy-tale, but it's the next best thing, and may this dance be the dance that fills your heart with joy forever! (sigh) We all love you, sweet Maureen! (kiss on cheek) Your poem made me smile! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Maureen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

How does one stand up and cheer over the computer?? Cause that's what I feel like doing after reading this. So glad you found a space of happiness. Dancing has been known to take me away from the bad times, too.
And this was written so well, just wonderful all around.

Maureen,
Very romantic and caressing. I felt like I was dancing with you. Check to see if your feet are sore from being stepped on to make sure it wasn't me. Beautiful poem.

So glad that you had a wonderful time and blessed us here by sharing it. You tell it wonderfully, and it sounds as if you had great fun. I love pieces like this that bring a smile and make one feel good. You've captured your evening and brought it out for us to watch, better than a video! Brava, dear and hope you have many more Cinderella nights.

Maureen,
What a babe, what a night, what a change and what a delight! Congratulations.

Such shades of midnight blessed
spirits raised from its test
Cinderella finds true
life in a dancing shoe

But this was just one night
which dreams have found their light
in hopes of many more
I pray your heart to soar

It was good to see you AGAIN!!
