Desolate Beauty The beauty of the desert Is not a masterful art piece But a majestic platform Of raw beauty and depth With an unsatisfied thirst And a hardened heart That rivals only time As the weather beaten face of an old man Tells this story from atop the highest mountain Wise in his years Mature beyond comprehension The over looker and protector of this land Occasionally blowing off the dust Of a desolate land As if cleaning an antique lamp Making a wish That the mountains of our forefathers Form a circle of protection For the children of hope Honoring the pact from years long past Until the last grains of sand Find the bottom of the abyss That is eternity And therefore an end to a new beginning Marcel |
