The stairway up takes effort The lifting of feet The pulling of the hip The fight against gravity The upward stride To some Climbing come naturally To others a necessary effort Few are content to stay At basement level Ascending upward The stairway ends What do you do when You've reached the top? Enjoy the view for awhile? Then plan for the descent? Knowing what goes up Must come down Could anyone be content To live at the top forever Or are we programmed To find a reason To go back down Is roof top living Always temporary? Or could the next step be To grow feathers? Or is it always The stairway down? Gravity assist us with that endeavor Yet still it's not as easy as would seem There is the struggle to stay erect To keep one' balance To not miss a step To not loose control To suceed at gracefully Coming to a landing This task equal to the climbing Descending purposely With grace Arriving with all faculties intact The last step The bottom.. And it's a doozy! |

*grin* and then the climb begins again as we continue to learn and reach ever higher. I love the way my thoughts went on this poem. Magnificent. **hugs** Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
