As the sunlight falls so gently, This wee one ~ heaven-born, Rubs her eyes to waken them, On this early winter morn. Slowly she opens her little wings, Slips into flannel lined jeans, Straightens her crooked halo ~ All set for today’s routines. Pulling on her tiny boots, And buttoning up her fleece, She peeks outside her window, And sees a masterpiece. Stardust had fallen through the night, Twinkles had dressed the pines, Soft baby doves were embellishing, Adding red berries and vines. This cherub ran right out the door, To add her own special touch, A raggedy, one-eyed teddy bear ~ That she loved, so very much. Stepping back for a better look, She saw a perfect tree, And said to herself “That’s what I’ll do ~ When God gets done with me.” |
