Aquamarine, with yellow rings like arms of the sun. Pupils like sea-coal, sea-cold glass. A waveless ocean, its shore of lashes. My fingers teasing your irises open. To be consumed, subsumed by your sight. To dance like tears on the lens. To swim from corner to corner and back. A cold penny in the night. Venus, the moon, Neptune's ice. This is the sort of writing that makes one yearn to have yourself be the subject. I found myself comparing the colors to my own eyes, splashed with the images of a thousand mornings. What intricate and beautiful design! You've left me with daydreams enough to fill the whole of my afternoon. Thank you. |
