Morning came in precious light Streaming behind velvet drapes She stretched and yawned scanning the guestroom She’d slept better than ever Even in the dragon’s lair She tossed her hair Showering Managing to skip Down the stairs In time for breakfast Edwardo met her at the table Eyes glaring across the eggs She met his glance hard boiled “I believe shopping is in order” She trilled He was thrilled to pamper her He was disappointed When she decided to go alone His Men dropped her off The Market Square was bustling Making her way to the dock Edging the breakwater bay In the most beautiful of days Dock number 9 Easy to find Mitchell..was singing Otis Redding Barefooted In bluejeans and denim shirt His strong arms tossed Her like a life preserver Up onto the deck. With the freshly painted name of “Pearl” “You inspired me” he smiled The sun glared on the water As he spun round and started For the middle of the world. Once distance was achieved They drifted along cliff walls He was beyond himself As she sat squinting in the light He left the wheel Cupped her face Kissing her fully in the warmth of the sun “I’m sorry. I couldn’t wait To do that..now that I have Must I wait to know your real name too?” She spun around in silence Wide eyed and clueless “I don’t know what you’re talking about Mitchell. My Daddy gave me that name Bless him all the same” “Your Daddy?? Well that’s funny Because I didn’t know I had a sister!!
