Rain, Visiting

After a summer of fires,
the rain is a welcome visitor,
an out-of-touch old friend
just dropping by.

So freeing, the rain,
even as it slips inside
the old van -
running the length of the roof,
to puddle on the rear floor,
we laugh with the rain,
knowing tomorrow
it’s going to smell awful
and realizing
something must be done
about the leak,
but in this moment
it’s a sightseer
along for the ride.

(smiles) I love the rain so very much; I love how when it's falling softly, it makes your skin and hair moist and how refreshing it smells and feels.
