Breakfast @ Shari’s

the morning
chatters awake
as locals and travelers
eat eggs and steak

the all-night diner
buzzes and pops
like drum beats of bugle corps~
with dustbins and mops

bells ring, servers sing
with “Good morning!” smiles,
for reg’lars and guests
who’ve traveled for miles

aromas all mingle
distinction’s not easy
my hunger is risin’
its makin’ me queasy

the coffee’s delicious
it’s brewed strong to stand
mug’s kept at full
at the end of my hand

the food has arrived
its tasted is quite fine
devouring each morsel
is wondrous, divine

another’s fine cooking
can be quite a treat
when one’s breaking her fast
and pausing to eat

This poem just might send everyone running to the diner. LOL, I'm going to go get a snack!
I liked those musical mops and dustpans.

I love diners too. There's nothing quite like breakfast in a diner. Makes me feel that all is right with the world. Soothing and comforting, waitresses cracking jokes and gum. Yeah, I wanna go to a diner now.

VAS,
But the best ones have no smoking in the whole place. Miss that place here in AZ.

(smiles) Mmmmmmmmm...I love Shari's! (sigh) Many summers when I drive across the country from Denver to Cape Giradeau, Missouri, we would always stop in Junction City for a nice breakfast there! (smiles) The homecooking there is always so wonderful! (smiles) Mmmmmmmm, you're making my mouth watering just reading this fabulous poem! (smiles) I LOVE IT!!! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
