Goodbye

I’ve taken down my gallery.
To be replaced with furniture
The cost was high in calorie.
A wake of unknown overture

It seems my ownership defunct
My wife has signaled them passé
They’re now a part of wills adjunct
My children carry them away.

It’s hard to say goodbye a dove
A love I loved so many years
It’s hard to say goodbye a love
A passion and so many tears

The furniture has left me cold
It’s dark and cold without a soul
I sit in revelry feeling old
Like soup left cold in a bowl.

What is left but butterfly themes?
Babbling brooks and silver dreams.

I can be your hero baby ... I will kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever ... you still take my breath away ...

Ah Sy...the senior founding attorney of our office, retired, but still having retained his office, came in the other day and started taking down his pictures and other personal items.  He is 93....

this hits home....

Oh Sy...This hurts...I was urgent at first look of title...but how selfish of me...for wanting you around...when you just want to stay the way you are...So much more you have to offer still...I love your butterfly verse and hope you find contentment in those silver dreams. For yours are so cherished above all with the {life} you give them! Big (Hugs)!

Sincerely,
Regina

Sy, the old pictures and furniture will always be new and fresh in memory.......memories are the gifts of the gods to those of us who choose not to forget!
Loved this one from you, but I always do love yours!!!

The road goes on forever, the stories never end, and people are the same the world over!

Oh dear, I remember sending you an email wishing to see them all!  Oh well, guess it will give me an excuse to visit there one day, to go digging in the attic Sy?  They were from the canvas of your mind, and that will be there forever to share.   Thank you for sharing this one.

How utterly sad this poem is, Sey. Especially the soup line...

Nobody can take those dreams away, Sy. I'm sad that your gallery is gone but glad that the children have them. Something of you that I am sure they will always cherish. (((HUGS)))

Such a beautifully tender and sorrow-filled piece Sy. You're tugging these old heart strings with these dear sentiments. Wonderful flow and phrasing my friend.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Everytime I move, I come across something that triggers old memories. I 've left my artwork scattered, and haven't a single painting on my walls. Someone else is hopefully enjoying them now. But there are times when I want one or two of them back, just for the memories.
And as for poetry?  I'd enjoy sitting by your babbling brook to watch butterflies any day of the week.

For Sy ... our Artist of words and wisdom ...
painter of rhyme scheme dreams.

Poetic Justice

These blue walls are your gallery
These pages your canvas of rhyme
Your brush strokes become from thy gifted pen ...
Engraving your verse in the realm of forever's time

You paint for us a visions sign
Thy words are framed in archives of gold
Poetic jewels of wisdom and truth
A treasure chest of a prophet's secrets poetically told

An artist of endless possibilities
A poet of unending inspiration
With thy ink of wise you pen humanity
You have my unending respect and admiration

You painted butterfly wings on lonely moth
You planted her a garden of Eden in which to fly
You pen us a paradise of Shangri-La
Now I wish to write thy name across the sky

Through your eyes ... we dare to dream
By your words ... ever held in highest esteem

As a packrat, I can't imagine giving anything so special away. But, at least you can still see them at your childrens houses.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
