Let’s roll for life and liberty
Resolved as steel against the foe
Who threatens our security
Desiring to bring us low.

Let’s roll for freedom fearlessly
Courageous may we always stand
Protecting home and family
Preserving well our fathers’ land.

Let’s roll for human dignity
And decency for great and small
Rejecting hatred’s tyranny
That lashes out to shackle all.

Let’s roll for future harmony
For generations yet to be
Bequeathing to posterity
That priceless gift of liberty.

~

In memory of Todd Beamer and the other brave souls of Flight 93 who chose to sacrifice their own lives to save those on the ground on September 11, 2001, over Pennsylvania. Todd’s last known words were “Let’s roll.” President Bush mentioned their heroism in his speech tonight and ended his speech with Todd's last words.

My personal opinion is that Todd and his colleagues deserve the post mortem Congressional Medal of Honor...

Let's ROLL - indeed...

Yes, I remember this young man's story. It filled me with tears and pride for his freedom and courage in the face of certain death. His wife is expecting, if I remember correctly. Thank you for reminding us of someone who is brave.

This story could never be told enough...when things got tough they got tougher...I would expect no less from any American...hopefully we all can follow this brave example when put to a test of courage...James

Thank you all so much for reading and for your wonderful heartfelt replies. Along with Todd Beamer, I found some additional names of those on board. I salute them all and also salute all the heroes of September 11th, all the heroes of our past and all the heroes yet to be. God bless America.
