I saw a fancy city man had joined the new roundup. I laughed, he ate beans with a fork, and drank coffee from a cup. His brand new chaps were stiff and hard not worn and soft like mine. He really couldn't ride a horse, but I admired him for tryin. I asked him what his name was and he grinned..."I'm Interloper" "and though I am a city man, I wanna be a real cowpoker. I laughed at him and told him that I'd be glad to show him how. He said "I know it can not be all that hard to poke a cow." I grinned and winked at all the other cowboys standin round. I said "before I teach you though a cow has to be found." I told him there's a fence out back with just the cow inside. and if he bent and milked her first she'd take him for a ride. Well he ran off and went in search to find the cow at hand. And all the others laughed so hard that they could hardly stand. They all slapped me on the back and stated I was cruel. Wait until he finds out you sent him off to milk a bull. With perseverance even the snail reached the Ark. |

being new to Texas I have seen many cows and bulls. Poor Interloper if he can't tell the difference. I loved this.... this woman's soul drowned in the shallow waters of a man's heart. |
