Years of Native Tears |

Decades removed from the city of bridges though countless crossings since, o'er the flow of earth's tears wrung from ridges, mountains and rolling hills rinse. From native's the names, the Allegheny hard rocks worn to boulders smooth, it melts then roars in spring when it's rainy to summer's rippling soothe. The Monongahela's rise from the south weeps from West Virginian slopes, two tribes whose language commingle one mouth in wide Ohio's bed elope. From hills through valleys on to midwest plains they laze in a southern sun, christened by Indians who now would pain realizing what we have done. In the murk of a heavier water fewer species of fish remain, eagle, bear, wolf, the beaver and otter crushed by concrete and steel urbane. This spiritless world would they mistify that souless give nature no fear, nor these waters reflect sentimental sky whose tomorrow's become unclear. That we take what we want and never give thoughtless in our selfish haste, they'd perplex that we'd think offspring could live in a world that we've laid to waste. That this progress would be our undoing, technology's merely a trap, this life's river on which we're canoeing consists of our own lying crap. "Happy people have no history" - French Proverb |

BRAVO!!!!yes...again your talent leaves me in awe. There is something so classic and eternal about the way you write. The anger you have for what we have selfishly done to this earth is very clear and I totally agree with it. BRAVO!!! I am glad to hear your voice shout out our shame. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
