"Why do you love me?" again he asked me
Yet how could I explain my heart to him.
I sigh because its difficult to answer.
And I'm not really sure where to begin.

And I think....

Do I...
tell him its the twinkle in his brown eyes,
                                or
the way his fingers feel entwined with mine.
                                That
I love his dimples when he smiles at me,
                                or
I think that all his kisses are devine.

Do I...
name off all the places on his body,
                               that
my lips just seem to fit so perfectly.
                               That
my heart always beats a little faster,
                               just
because he's simply standing close to me.

Do I...
tell him its the way we watch old movies
                               and
he sits and runs his fingers through my hair.
                               Or
that I love just knowing he's beside me
                               and
I always feel much safer when he's there.

Do I...
tell him that I know he is my soulmate
                               or
that he and I together make up one.
                               That
though our life together may be short lived
                               that
eternally our life has just begun.

"Why do you love me?" again he asked me.
He wonders what my smiles all about.
I just whisper..that it is for me to know
just know "My Love" you'll never be without.

Yes, it's difficult to put into words when someone asks what it is we love about them. I see you have managed very well here though. Good poem Lucie

tell him over and over
yes, tell him
don't stop telling him
show him with your actions
but tell him with your words
and don't wait
tell him over and over
he will love you to hear it
and the words will grow the love
yes, tell him

(hehe, show him the poem!!! that's tellin' him Lucie!)

There are so many infinitestial things that add up to create the love we feel for another. Alone they may sound unimportant but, like strands of a rope, together they can lift the world. Great writing, Lucie....but my eyes are BLUE!!!!

By all means, tell me. And, most important always sho him. Because that old sying "WORDS WITHOUT ACTIONS DON'T MEAN A THING" is very true.

Tell him, tell him everyday then should fate cast it's glance his way, he'll hear it in the words you say and no need in the way you pray. Tell him, tell him everyday then should God's hand lead him away, he'll know Love's truth in light of day add color now before life's grey.

Yes, when they asked that it's hard to explain it. Well, do what your heart says, I'm sure he knows anyway.

Nice write

It is hard to tell them, isn't it? But tell him, TELL HIM! *giggle* You will be happy you did!

Thank you all so very much for your responses. I tell him all the time that I love him..but sometimes I guess you wonder WHY people love you. And I know that right now its difficult for me to express all the reasons that I love him, but when that time comes when he is no longer beside me I won't be able to think of anything else.
