I gave…

I gave you a perfect daughter,
So that I didn’t have to be…
A faceless mirror of complexion,
Is what I tend to be…

The brightest colors of newest love-
Seem to fade into reality…
You see me as a different person-
Still inside it’s only me…

Concrete example of loves pure form-
I still cherish the air that you breathe…
Peer into deepest emerald divine-
See only what you believe…

Search the deepest folds of eternity-
And still you’ll find me there…
Gazing at you in bewildered delight-
Loving you through only a stare…

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

Our children, our marriage, or lives in general are an extension of that reality.  What's important is the way we see ourselves.  Now don't get me wrong, I don't always like what I see, it's just that some days I like her better than others.

Oh yes, you gave from your heart and what love is all about is both giving and receiving love. This is a beautiful poem. Very well done.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
