The Shores of Alone

What now to do with this passion
just revived, and then turned away.
Where to go, while waiting again
for a chance to see light of day.

A box, keeping safely inside
away from the daily despair?
Perhaps paper, now its' lone space
live in words until someone cares.

Where now to place heart full of love?
Pretend it was never alive?
Goodbye, twas nice but now over
Yet smiling, carry on, survive..

There's a corner in which to hide
put passion and love out of sight
But who really wants to go there,
Lying lonely in tears each night?

And yet we must go there...because love does not always work out as we wish and we need to work through our disappointments and gather our strength to go on...for even though today is full of sorrow we can still have hope for tomorrow...James
