![]() I woke up that day Something inside compelled me To see my precious baby ~*~ I crept into her room She was already awake I took her from the crib Held her in my arms and kissed her sweet face ~*~ Because of that moment I left home late A friend on the way Caused another delay ~*~ When I finally arrived at the water front A shock was before me The crash of a plane ~*~ At my proposed destination Had I been on time I may not have survived ~*~ As I stood on the pier I watched it unfold with the rest of the Nation ~*~ A second fireball did explode I could see through my tears Terror ensued, the area was cleared ~*~ We were hearded on a train To wisk us away Phone lines down Panic, disbelief, surreal visions ~*~ People huddled together in prayer As news arrived in morsals More terror as we helplessly stood ~*~ Another crash hit the heart of our land Buildings fell Like fragile houses of cards ~*~ Thousands of souls Gone to the Lord ~*~ When I finally returned home Safely In one piece Unharmed ~*~ The calls began from family and friends Visits, tears, hugs Prayers of Thanks for my life ~*~ And You, who didn't shed a tear for me your wife ~*~ Your hug felt empty, as I in your arms Heard your words so hallow I could have been dead Yet, not much was said ~*~ Our loss of love is hard to swallow If on that fateful day The wall still Could not break away ~*~ As I along with others bore witness to the start of World War Three ~*~ May God save your soul and help us all! ~*~ ~~*~~ ~~~*~~~ ~~~~*~~~~ *~*~*~*~ Benita *~*~*~*~ The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it. -Gen. Schwarzkoff [This message has been edited by BtwnRockandHardPlace (edited 10-29-2001).] |

Well I am so glad that you are safe! This proves that sometimes getting side tracked can be a good thing. It can save you from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. ((Hugs)) |
