Lead me to the twilight delta
where every bubble speaks-
and tongues wag artlessly on streams.

Lead me to the honeycomb-
where kisses cultivate in bleak stages
until they burst bittersweet.
Lead me there.

Lead me to Chesapeake Bay
where inland, I untie my grief,
release my sail-
and fling my shells and stones
into the air!

Lead me to the embers-
the sugar fires; to the driftwood..
Dip my fingers in maple-
sweeten your flesh with spiral strokes…

Lead me to our bed,
Dream away my body, mind and spirit.
Shower me in rosewater-
love me,
lest I stop believing.
