Last night I had salty dreams, again. Windchimes dancing in the cool seabreeze, curling waves crashing upon the shores, starfish and crabs hiding from the waves, and you and I in love's embrace. And my thoughts floated on Santa Ana winds to azure blue seas and beige sands shifting warm and moist between our toes, smelled the salty air that tingles the nose. I heard your sighs, as we watched the sun set into the Pacific behind the Channel Islands. So, where are you now? Are you as lost as me? For I am lost in a sea of tears, drowning in the painful reality that I was neither your song, nor your melody. Perhaps not even a harmonic memory. |

crazy4u, Thanks, and once again, welcome to these 'blue' pages. Coco, crying washes dust out of the eyes, so I always tell myself it is a good thing to cry once in a while. Thanks, glad it touched you. Smitten, I'm glad you liked the sea imagery. I've been away from it for 5 years now, but it's still inside of me. |

Do you like to 'body surf' or do you need a board? Hehe, I am really missing the ocean tonight. This is the longest time in my life where I've lived more than an hour away from the surf. Midnitesun, As fun as I'm sure that is...I'm best at the romantic walks on the beach and exploring tide pools. Like to scuba but that was long ago and far away. |

Well, ya know I feel the same about those long walks and the tide pools. I really stopped body surfing years ago, and haven't been on a board since the 70's. And scuba was never my thing, but I did like snorkeling. Ah, now I'm just making myself 'homesick' again for the coast....almost any coast. (I may end up in Kenai, Seward or Kodiak, AK next year.) |

Beautifully written and so visual. The ending sorta catches your gut a little. May you again feel the peace of the sea and the companionship of another. Thanx, I enjoyed this much. |

Very sad, I have recently found the love of my life and I don't know what I would do if I ever felt like this about him......I would just die it is as if we have always been together in spirit...great writing here...thanx....J |

Oh my gosh all of this has made me homesick....I want romantic walks under a moonlit sky along the beach and holding one another close as we listen to the surf. *sigh* now there I go off in dreamland again. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

I know these wistful memories well, though I don't think of them so often these days. You have a wonderful way with the imagery here, I can just picture what you are describing, and the scenery sounds lovely. Although not lasting, I hope the memory of it is as sweet If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Regina, thank you. Someday maybe, but meanwhile, I've chosen to not hold my breath, but to release it slowly and gently through writing. Tracey, bittersweet memories penned this one.
