on the horizon of a fairytale

Like a runaway train
her life has gone round corners too fast
always afraid it is now or never
hesitant couldn’t describe her

the threat of unworthiness
hovering like a cloud, her smile
was ever present, her demeanor
always serene

her charming poise
said to be her best asset, she
dared never to over speak. Polite
howdoyoudo’s, than listen attentively

taken to altar by the first man with
whom she shared her passion
she slept in the false contentment
of “this is how it is meant to be”

an imaginary “white picket fence” aligning
the rounded bushes adorning the circular drive
confirmed her contentment

startled by the stirring of feelings unknown
to her, she was only more intrigued by the
handsome stranger

coming to discover her passion was more
than she had ever known, she fell in love with
the man who awakened the woman inside

believing she is measured by the love of others
she feels so lost at his turning from her now….

Look into the eyes of a man and
you will find the soul of the woman
who loves him...

If we are measured by love, perhaps it should be our love for others.  Sad but very well written.

Very real write.  In a way saying that the other man's grass is not always greener....or, prince charming could turn out to be a frog.  Not sure what I just said, but I know what I meant.
Hugs, Nancy.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Annie, this is so sos ad but so beautiful! (sigh) I believe that the more love we give, the more we get, and in measuring love, it's how together we learn to love, and all the joy and understanding that comes when hearts touch! (sigh) Wonderful, sweet friend, you always write so beautifully! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Annie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
