A Burden

I shall never be a burden
lading weight of me, upon,
nor the tensing of a furrowed brow
of those, my love's built on.

An albatross around your neck,
'tis not, I'll ever be.
I'd rather kiss with words, "Goodbye"
and fly with wings from thee.

I dream of angels in the night
who gather up their flock.
Saving them from hurt and harm,
no living by the clock.

And see them in the shadows light,
nearing bedside, mine.
I shall never be a burden
nor a thought, between a line.

Holding stone, a wishing, one of two
the other held by you.
With a longing, sometimes leaning toward
a need for eyes of blue.

But the distance seems to wander off
becoming endless reach,
when all I have to hold onto
are words of written speech.

I shall print my heartsworth feelings
placing them in pages, pure.
I shall never be a burden
even though, I love you more.

you are no burden
light as a feather you are
a refreshing breeze

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Yes, the last thing I would ever want to be to anyone is a burden....but, Maureen, you could never be.  You are too good of a person, honest, outgoing, giving...

as judged by such wisdom,
you could indeed, never be a burden.
perhaps a burden to bad thoughts,
but that is as far as it would go...

nkdthoughts,
nor a thought, between a line.

Good for you! And besides, burdens are meant to be shared. Nice poem.

Once again, I thank you each for taking the time to read and comment on  my words. At times I feel unworthy of your kindness.
