The leaves fall in October’s last light.
Above the smoky roofs,
the last robin now takes flight.
The children run and dance and sing.
Enjoying life again,
     and not wanting for anything.

In October’s last light, my heart dreams.
And you’re back again,
everything is just as it seems.
My heart beats like a love-struck child’s.
Looking for that solace
from the Winter’s wind so wild.

October’s last light really isn’t moon or sun.
It’s that Twilight ray
that is together both and none.
And when October’s last light fades from view,
All I’m left with are
these memories, and not with you.

A poignant write, hopefully November will offer reason for thanksgiving.

if mem'rys are good
wrap yourself in warm recall
if not then forget

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Dear Lady. This is beautiful but sad. I think it is one of your best yet. (((HUGS))))

Thank you.  The Fall has never been very good for me.  Something about the leaves falling that just touches at the soul.
